
(Louisville, KY) – The Batesville Community School Corporation is proud to celebrate the exceptional achievements of its archery teams at the 2024–2025 NASP National Championships held in Louisville, Kentucky.
Representing Batesville Intermediate School (BIS), Batesville Middle School (BMS), and Batesville High School (BHS), student-athletes from across the district delivered standout performances on the national stage.
Batesville Intermediate School (BIS):
Competing against 184 teams from across the nation, BIS earned an impressive 13th-place finish in their division. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the team’s dedication, discipline, and hours of practice.
Leading BIS was 5th grader Gage Thompson, who shot a personal best score of 267 out of 300. Among the talented 4th graders, Stevie Vohland also reached a personal best with an outstanding 265.
“We are so proud of how our students performed,” said coach Mike Weiler. “Their focus, competitiveness, and sportsmanship were on full display.”
Batesville Middle School (BMS):
BMS faced off against 252 teams nationwide and finished 31st in their division, concluding the season with pride and determination.
The team was led by 8th grader Jack Pulskamp, who delivered a stellar performance with a score of 283. He was closely followed by 7th grader Peyton Sarringhaus and 6th grader Rebecca Siebert, who each shot impressive scores of 279, leading their respective grade levels.
“The hard work and perseverance from this group have been remarkable,” said coach Weiler. “They earned this success.”
Batesville High School (BHS):
Among 265 of the nation’s top high school teams, BHS finished an outstanding 26th in their division, demonstrating grit, resilience, and team spirit.
Senior Lydia Haskamp capped her BHS archery career with a personal best of 289, solidifying her legacy as the all-time leading scorer and school record-holder for most 50s (53).
Freshman Trace Scott also shot an impressive 289, while junior Macy Young and sophomore Lily Eckstein followed closely with scores of 287 and 284, respectively.
“These students represent the best of Batesville,” said coach Weiler. “Their dedication and excellence continue to raise the bar.”
As the archery season comes to a close, Batesville’s student-archers now enjoy a well-earned break, having proudly represented their schools and community with distinction at the national level.
