Chicago, IL — Baxter Hillrom is recalling the WatchCare Incontinence Management System after receiving reports that the radio frequency emissions from the devices could interfere with other medical instruments.
These include infusion and insulin pumps, blood glucose sensors, fetal monitors, and bladder scanners.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says this is a Class I recall, which is the most serious type of recall.
The FDA says the use of the devices could serious injuries, health problems, or even death.
The distribution dates of the devices in question are from August 1, 2018, to September 1 of this year.
Baxter International is the parent company of Hillrom, which has operations in Batesville.
