(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County’s first responders and health care teams came together with the support of the American Red Cross for this year’s Battle of the Badges: Blood Drive on November 6.

This life-saving event was made possible through the collaborative effort of the Decatur County Health Department, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, and Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., community members supporting local law enforcement, emergency services, and public health rolled up their sleeves, literally, to help save lives.

This year’s event was a tremendous success, collecting 34 good units of blood, enough to help save up to 102 lives. Behind every donation was a powerful reminder of what makes the Decatur County community special: compassion, teamwork, and a shared commitment to helping others.

The Battle of the Badges added a lighthearted twist to this life-saving effort, giving first responder teams a chance to earn bragging rights while giving back in a meaningful way.
