Batesville Woman Sentenced for Theft

(Versailles, IN) – A Batesville woman was sentenced this week in Ripley Circuit Court after pleading guilty to Theft.

Jennifer Fullenkamp received five years in prison with a year suspended to probation on Wednesday from Judge Ryan King.

Fullenkamp was arrested in August 2024 on Theft and Corrupt Business Influence charges (both Level 5 felonies) for allegedly stealing from her employer.

She was accused of stealing more than $50,000 from Scheele Orthodontics in Batesville while employed at the dental practice.

Court documents indicate Fullenkamp operated an embezzlement scheme between 2007 and 2022 in which she enticed patients to pay in cash and gave them substantial discounts if they did so, which was not authorized by Dr. Angela Scheele.

Investigators say they discovered Fullenkamp deposited the cash into her personal checking account and adjusted balances in the database.

She was arrested following a year-long investigation by Indiana State Police with assistance from the FBI.

The Corrupt Business Influence count was dismissed in exchange for her guilty plea to the Theft charge.
