Batesville, In. — Water main flushing in Batesville will be done Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19. Flushing is an annual process designed to remove sediment and improve water quality.
On Thursday beginning at 5 a.m. Tekulve Avenue & East Pearl Street east of Eastern Avenue; Township Line Road; Lammers Pike including all areas on the north side of State Road 46 not listed. All of Mitchell Avenue, west on Columbus Avenue and all of Huntersville Road. North of Columbus Avenue. All of Columbus Avenue west of Mulberry, including Locust Avenue, E.G.S. Boulevard, Lakeshore Drive, Valley Drive and Valley Court. All of Hillendale, State Road 129, Coonhunters Road, County Road 1400 to the crossroads, including all of State Road 229 south of Batesville and all of Delaware Road.
On Friday beginning at 6 a.m. all other areas of the Batesville water system not completed on Thursday.
The flushing process can release metals like iron and manganese that can potentially discolor water. The combination can discolor clothing and make the water unsightly to drink. The most notable difference customers may experience is fluctuation in water pressure.
