Batesville Varsity Bulldogs Claim Victory Over Columbus North Bull Dogs

Batesville Varsity Bulldogs beat Columbus North 9-5 on Tuesday.
Columbus North were the first to get on the board in the first when Brock Kitner singled, scoring one run.
Alex Krekeler singled to center field, which helped Batesville tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
In the bottom of the second, Batesville broke up the tie when Ronan Post grounded out, scoring one run. Then a ground out by Carson Schnedier followed to extend the lead to 3-1.
Batesville added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Cayden Drake doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.
Drake earned the win for Batesville. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Jayce Emmitt took the loss for Columbus North. The starting pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out one and walking one.
Batesville piled up nine hits in the game. Drake led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Schneider went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Columbus North in hits.
Batesville Varsity Bulldogs welcome East Central on Thursday for their next game.
