Batesville, In. — Batesville common council approved a Belterra grant for a “Veteran’s Banner Program” similar to the “Portals of the Past” program. The program will be available this year and is free to the family of any service member.
Director of community development Steven Harmeyer explains there will be a total of 55 banners situated in a walking pattern in downtown. The banners will be displayed between Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day and in some cases for multiple seasons.
