Batesville, IN—Batesville High School Principal Andy Allen has announced that BHS will hold the 110 Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 30 at 11 am. The Commencement ceremony will be conducted virtually. The Community will be able to watch the ceremony on ETC Channel 900, on youtube by clicking here, on the Batesville High School Facebook page, and on the ISC Sports Network App.
School officials say the decision to move the 110th Commencement ceremony to a virtual format was made after careful considerations of the students, family, and BHS staff safety considering family travels, student reception planning, and announcement investments set on the original date of graduation that was set for May 30.
The community is invited and encouraged to recognize the Class of 2020 on Friday, May 29 as a “Senior Caravan” being led by the Batesville Police and Fire Departments will proceed through the streets of Batesville. The Class of 2020 Caravan will depart from Batesville High School at 5 pm and utilize the following route:
The Class of 2020 Caravan route will:
- Exit BHS and proceed south on Huntersville crossing State Rd. 46,
- Turn left at Columbus Ave, proceed through the front drive of BIS and BMS
- Turn right on Mulberry and proceed past The Memorial Pool
- Turn left on Pearl St. to proceed downtown
- Turn right at Cook Performance and then left again on Pearl St. passing the City Plaza parking lot, 6. 6. Turn right on Park Ave.
- Once on Park Ave, the Class of 2020 Caravan will proceed past Liberty Park
- Turn left on Pohlman St.,
- The Class of 2020 Caravan will conclude at The PLEX.
Suggested viewing areas include St. John’s United Church of Christ Parking Lot, The Batesville Youth Football Practice Fields, The Batesville Memorial Pool Parking Lot, The City Plaza Parking Lot, Liberty Park, The Batesville Youth Soccer Fields, and The Plex.
