(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Mayor’s Youth Council surpassed its $25,000 crowdfunding goal to improve the safety and usability of the Liberty Park basketball courts.

A total of $28,475  was raised before Sunday’s deadline for the $50,000 project, with each dollar matched by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s CreatINg Places program.

Funds will be used to grind and resurface nearly 10,000 feet of pavement and add color to the courts (pictured).

The youth council also plans to add picnic tables throughout Liberty Park.
