The 7th-grade volleyball team played hard & aggressively to defeat Jac-Cen-Del 25-15, 25-24. The team had great serving in game one, struggled in the 2nd game, but then recovered with good serving to secure the win.
The top server was Nya Moon, who scored 10 points and 4 aces. Ella Peetz added 8 points with 2 aces. Reese Richey added 5 points with 1 ace. Vera Flannery added 3 points with 1 ace. While Adalyn Placke and Zoey Mathews each chipped in 1 point.
The team also had good plays at the net. Elsie Koehne, Zoiee Carter, Reese Richey, Adalyn Placke, Ella Peetz, Zoey Mathews, and Nya Moon all had 1 kill each. Vera Flannery also had 1 kill and a block. Allana Herbert, Brielle Maple, and Harper Wagner, Caroline Weideman contributed in the back row for the win. The team is now 4-2.

The BMS 8th Grade Volleyball Team had an excellent start to their match vs. Jac-Cen-Del, but couldn’t maintain the same consistency in sets 2 and 3. Scores were 25-8; 14-25; 8-15
Once again, Lydia Niese led the team connecting on 14 of 15 from the service line earning 12 points including 2 aces. Maci Smith and Carly Blanton each earned 6 service points, while Amelia Vierling scored 4 points.
In the front row, the Lady Dogs continue to show improvement but are still working to be more aggressive at the net. Lydia Niese, Kenzi Lacey, and Breauna Broshears each earned 2 kills. The teams will be on the road next week as they travel to North Decatur on Tuesday.
