The Batesville Middle School Cross Country team traveled to North Branch Golf Course to take on the North Decatur Chargers. The boys team had the honor of stepping to the line first with Levi Essick leading for the entirety of the race. Levi crossed the finish line in a time of 11:59. Cael Luhman was the next Bulldog in 2nd place, Hank Bohman in 3rd place, Abe Trossman 4th, Wyatt Essick 5th, Ryan Benz 7th, and Jasper Johnson 8th. The boys had a perfect team score of 15 points while North Decatur had 50 points.
The girls team made quick work of the course with Ava Wade crossing the finish line first in a time of 11:42. The Lady Bulldogs swept the ribbons, taking not only the top 10 spots, but the first 14 spots before the first Lady Charger finished. Maycee Holtkamp placed 2nd, Elia Wade was 3rd, Jayla Bedel 4th, Hilary Ziegler 5th, Rosie Gilland 6th, Nya Moon 7th, Audrey Dieckmann 8th, Aubrey Weberding 9th, and Bhuvi Ranka 10th. Like the boys, the girls team had a perfect score of 15 points to North Decatur’s 50 points.
