Manufacturing is a major economic asset in Southeast Indiana. The influence of production jobs in the area has led Mayor Rick Fledderman to proclaim October as National Manufacturing Month in Batesville.
National Manufacturing Month is a national event highlighting the value of manufacturing to the U.S. economy as well as its available, highly skilled careers.
Fledderman hopes the proclamation helps expand knowledge of profession and the impact they have on the area.
“It makes our community more vibrant,” said Mayor Rick Fledderman, “It provides jobs, and a means to provide for their families, and in return, give back to the community in a lot of ways.”
National Manufacturing Month aims to teach students, parents, educators and the community to learn about real career opportunities while empowering manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
