Batesville junior varsity baseball asserted their will over Rushville on their way to an easy 12-2 victory on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs’ biggest inning came in the second inning when they tallied six runs. The offensive firepower by Batesville was led by Ethan Lacey, Jaiden Kuria, Carson Schneider, and Brayden Maple, who all drove in runs.
Lacey was the winning pitcher for the Batesville JV, lasting three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero. Mason Jones threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Danny Corn toed the rubber for the Lions. The righty lasted one inning, allowing one hit and five runs. Trey Newman threw three innings in relief.
Alex Krekeler went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Batesville in hits.
