Batesville JV baseball claims lead in sixth inning to defeat East Central

Batesville junior varsity baseball stole the lead late in the game in a 5-2 victory over East Central on Monday. The Bulldogs trailed 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning when Bobby Weiler singled on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs.

Batesville opened up scoring in the second inning. Paxton Harris drove in one when Harris singled.

Conner Drake earned the win on the mound for Batesville. He allowed one hit and two runs over one inning. Josh Borgman threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Batesville junior varsity tallied nine hits. Harris, Alex Krekeler, and Drake all had multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Drake, Krekeler, and Harris each managed two hits to lead the team.
