
The Bulldogs had a solid first quarter but their lead stayed at just 2 points, score after one was 7-5. However, the Chargers made several adjustments and came out swinging in the second quarter and Batesville wasn’t prepared for those punches. ND claimed a 16-12 lead at halftime.
As the Chargers continued their attack from the first half right out of the locker room, the Bulldogs found themselves in a 9-point hole, down 21-12 early in the third. A timeout was called and things quickly flipped. The boys came all the way back from 9 down to cut the lead to just a bucket before the fourth quarter, score 24-26.
A low scoring griddy defensive performance is exactly what both teams needed to get a win, but Batesville did enough in the clutch to sneak away with a 2-point, 32-30 victory over the Chargers. Jackson Peetz led the Bulldogs with 14 points; followed by Eli Denni with 9.
