(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Farmers Market, sponsored by Duke Energy, will kick off the Main Market Season on Saturday, May 4.
The market opens at 8 a.m. at the corner of Boehringer and Main streets in downtown Batesville.
“The Farmers Market is a huge asset to downtown Batesville,” said Market Manager Christy Ludwig. “We are excited to welcome back our long-term members for over 40 years and many new ones. Mother Nature hasn’t been cooperating for most farmers yet in getting their early crops out but soon the market will be thriving with early vegetables and fruits. Along with produce, you’ll find baked goods, microgreens, crafts, candles, homemade soap, alpaca wool, beef, and so much more! The Market has partnered with the Batesville Area Arts Council to provide music events once a month.”
“Farmer’s markets provide local businesses an opportunity to display their talents, goods and services,” said Kylie Foster, government and community relations manager for Duke Energy in Southeastern Indiana. “ Duke Energy appreciates the contributions of small businesses and family farms. Our sponsorship of the market is one way to show our appreciation for their contributions to our local economy.”
