(Batesville, IN) – Batesville City Council heard a presentation on the Downtown Vision Plan from Kyle Lueken with HWC Engineering Monday night.
Lueken has been working with the city and Batesville Main Street on the plan since April, and they’ve been looking for long term ideas on how to make downtown a destination for both residents and visitors. These include making the area more pedestrian-friendly and attractions, such as the Umbrella Sky Project, which brought thousands from near and far to downtown Batesville in 2021.
Council’s non-binding adoption of the plan is expected next month.
From there, Batesville Main Street would look for grant and other funding opportunities.
Lueken says the plan is still in the conceptual or vision phase, so a price tag for such an undertaking has not been determined.
The city, Batesville Main Street and HWC Engineering held a series of public presentations and updates on the plan earlier this year.
