Batesville, IN — The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce handed out awards last night at its Annual Dinner at Liberty Park Pavilion. The theme of the event was “Together We Thrive – Taking Care of Business.”
After opening remarks by Executive Director Tricia Miller and Chamber Board President Matt Talkington, and Congressman Greg Pence (R-IN 06) led the Pledge of Allegiance, Angela Byers accepted the Volunteer Award on behalf of the Batesville Area Resource Center; Oldenburg Academy Assistant Principal Jonathon Maple received the Educator of the Year Award; the Distinguished Service Award went to Amy Streator, and President and CEO Tim Putnam accepted the Organization of the Year Award on behalf of Margaret Mary Health.
A common theme throughout the night was how the community responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and how the area is recovering.
Also recognized at the event were outgoing Chamber Board Members Maggie Henson, Brad Mehlon, and Jocelyn Xenophontos.
The Batesville Chamber serves over 350 members and welcomed 100 new members in the past year.
