BATESVILLE, Ind. — Thursday night, the city of Batesville held their annual tree lighting ceremony.
The even started off with several different activities in downtown including carriage rides, and exhibits.
The Batesville Middle School Brass Ensemble and Choir entertained the crowd with favorite Christmas Carols.
The city also had a kids lantern parade.
Close to 6:00 PM, Mayor Mike Bettice took the stage and made a proclamation, making December 1, 2016 as tree lighting day.
After the reading of the proclamation, the tree was lit, and downtown Batesville welcomed a special visitor from the North Pole.
