St. Leon, IN – Yesterday, the 2025 EIAC conference track meet took place at East Central High School for both the boys and girls. With rain and thunder in the forecast for the evening, it was unsure if the meet would happen, but it started just before 7:00 PM and was a success for many schools, including the Bulldogs.
For Batesville, this meet produced 30 individual personal bests, 5 relays running season bests, 3 school records broken, a meet record broken, 8 individual conference champions, 3 relay championships, 10 individual conference runner ups and 3 relay runner ups, and a conference MVP.
Batesville’s Jake Chapman was also named the Conference MVP on the men’s side scoring 32.5 points for the Bulldogs. He won 4 conference championships. Jake placed first in the 1600m run (4:20.52)-breaking the meet record from 2007, the 800m run (2:03.72), 3200m run (9:59.16) and was the anchor of the winning 4 x 400m relay (3:28.42).
There were also 3 school records that were also broken tonight and they were: Brock Mahon in the discus, breaking the old school record set back in 1993 by Ken Bedel of 160’8″ with a throw of 166’3″. Ella King broke her own school record from earlier this season of 41’4″ with a throw of 41’10” tonight. Also breaking their own record from earlier this season, was the boys 4 x 100m relay of James Rowland, Brock Mahon, Noah Davis and Chris Stenger running a 43.67 and it was 43.81.
