Batesville’s 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team opened up the Southeastern Indiana Invitational Tournament on Monday night with a 41-20 opening-round win at home against South Dearborn. The Bulldogs started the game on an 11-5 run and finished the first half on a 10-4 spurt before outscoring the Knights 20-11 in the second half. Eli Denni finished leading all scorers with 14 points and Camden Kaiser added 8 points in the victory. Levi Hunt 6 points, Gage Lancaster put in 5 points and both Max Wagner and Jackson Peetz scored 3 points. Liam Wagner rounded out the scoring with two points. Batesville is now 13-4 and faces Jac-Cen-Del on Tuesday night in the tournament semifinals at South Dearborn.
