The Batesville boy’s 8th-grade team traveled to Greendale Middle school on Monday night to participate in the first round of the SEI tournament. The Bulldogs used a hot first half as they took a 33 to 8 lead over the Tigers heading into the half. The Bulldogs came out in the second half and continued playing well causing several turnovers which helped to maintain the lead. The final score of the game was Batesville 47 and Greendale 19. Leading the way for the Bulldogs in scoring was Kamryn Holcomb with 15 points, Carson Hartley with 15, Caleb Laker with 7, Jevan “Buckets” Smith with 3, Rylan Yeager with 3, Preston Blessing with 2, and Mathew Maher with 2. The win gives the Dogs a season record of 18 wins and 3 losses. The Bulldogs will play next on Tuesday night at South Ripley in the second round of the tournament starting at 6:30. They will take on the winner of the South Ripley versus Jac-Cen-Del game.
