Barbara Susan Terry, age 76, Hamilton

Barbara Susan Terry, age 76, of Harrison, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Shawneespring of Harrison.  Born, April 5, 1948, the daughter of William (Bill) H. Terry and Helen Louisa Baker Terry.

The largest part of Susan’s life was spent living on the family farm on Snowhill Road in West Harrison, Indiana. Following the death of Bill, Susan and brother, Jim, moved into a home in Harrison, Ohio, where she lived until illness made it necessary that she move into a facility for more assistance and care.

Susan worked for a short while for Hamilton Fan & Blower Co. until circumstances and her disability would no longer allow her to continue working. Following the passing of her mother, Susan picked up and continued writing a column for The Harrison Press, R.R. #2 News, which had been Helen’s contribution for many years.

All her life Susan loved dolls. Over the years she had collected hundreds of baby dolls and fashion dolls. A room in her and Jim’s house was even dedicated as the room for her collection. These were her pride and joy.

Susan was very faithful to remember family and friends with birthday and anniversary cards. Even when handwriting became a huge challenge, she would use her little portable typewriter to get cards addressed and ready to send out.

The Terry family members were faithful participants at their home church in Rockdale, Indiana. As a long-time member of Rockdale Church, Susan helped with teaching Sunday School for the smaller children and in other areas where she was able.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Terry, brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Ruth Terry, sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie & Elvis Gentry, brother, James Terry, and infant sister, Mary Lou.

Susan is survived by her brother, Tim (Terri), niece, Glenda (Dominic) Iacobucci, niece, Darlene Scott, nieces, Jenna, Jessica, and extended family members.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M., with Dominic Iacobucci officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.
