Barbara (Allen) Baker passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2025. She was born on June 9, 1943, in Clay County to Farmer and Hester Allen. On March 19, 1958, she married Roy T. Baker Sr., and together they built a loving family. She was a faithful supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and found great joy in giving to others. Throughout her life, she held many jobs, from working at the dress factory in Greensburg, cooking at various places such as Waffle House and Stories, as well as the Eagles Lodge in Greensburg where she was a member since 1984. She was known for her strong work ethic and warm personality. Barbara loved listening to Elvis Presley, and spending quality time as a member of a bowling league with Roy and all the kids.
Barbara was the proud mother of four children: Alan D. Baker of Greensburg; Jackie (Baker) Jannings of Greensburg; Tony (Teresa) Baker of Burney; and Roy (Jena) Baker of Greensburg. Barbara was blessed with seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She loved dancing and cherished spending time with her family and friends, who will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and love of life.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Monday, December 22, 2025 from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral at 11:30 am. Pastor Perry Cook will be officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
