Evansville, In. — Technician.Academy helped judge and lead a Breakout Session at the 3rd Annual Ivy Tech Community College Automotive Skills Competition in Evansville, Indiana. Technician.Academy’s Director of Aftermarket Content and Programs, Richard Young, was one of the judges for the competition. Shawn Collins, Technician.Academy’s Founder and CEO, also attended the event and lead a Breakout Session about automotive industry opportunities, expectations, and career paths that are available to students.
“The Skills Competition is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to test their automotive knowledge, earn awards, scholarships, and gain additional knowledge of the automotive industry,” says Shawn Collins. “We’re proud to be a part of it.”
The Automotive Skills Competition brings together local high schoolers to participate in a number of automotive testing scenarios as well as a 50-question ASE-style test. A panel of judges decides who the winners are and awards them with scholarships, tools, and trophies.
