The Indiana Department of Transportation will restrict Interstate 74 at two locations in Shelby County Tuesday morning for pavement repairs. The right eastbound lane will be closed at 8 a.m. at these mile markers:
- 114.5 mile marker (northeast side of Shelbyville)
- 119.0 mile marker (State Road 244 interchange)
INDOT plans to take advantage of warmer temperatures to replace failing concrete before winter weather conditions cause further pavement deterioration.
Greenfield subdistrict maintenance crews will remove and replace a 35-foot concrete section at the 119.0 mile marker. They will pour a new 6-foot slab at the 114.5 mile marker.
The left eastbound lane of I-74 will remain open to traffic at all times.
Restrictions should be lifted by 2 p.m. Wednesday, allowing sufficient time for the concrete to cure.
