The ruling now limits local clerk’s offices from issuing the license to same-sex couples while leaving those issued last week in question.
The Indiana Attorney General asked judges in Chicago to put a hold on same-sex marriages while his office files an appeal.

A final ruling on the issue may likely come from the U.S. Supreme Court.
