Sunman, IN—The Sunman Firemen’s Festival has elected to discontinue the event according to their Facebook page. The fire department noted that several factors contributed to this decision that includes conflicting activities on the same dates as the festival, reduced attendance and worker availability, and the costs of festival games, entertainment, food, beverages, and fees have risen significantly over the years, requiring higher pricing for games and meals.
Despite discontinuing the festival, the Fire Department plans to continue its annual Fish Dinner. It will be held on March 6 at the Sunman American Legion.
