Andrew “Andy” Lee Hand, 89, of Milan passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at The Seasons in Milan. Andy was born Saturday, July 13, 1929 in Fairfield Township, Butler County, Ohio the son of Harold and Mary Elizabeth (Inden) Hand. He married Dorothea “Dottie” Schmidt November 7, 1953 and she preceded him in death August 15, 2018. Andy was a pharmacist, a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Milan F & AM #31, Murat Shrine, Milan Lions Club, Milan Legion Post #235, Gymkhana Club, founder and member of the 3 Rivers Swim Club and past board member of Margaret Mary Community Hospital. He enjoyed horseback riding, golf and was the owner, operator and pharmacist of the Milan Drug Store from 1963 till 1988.
Andy is survived by sons: Todd (Vivian) Hand of FL and Eric (Becky) Hand of Milan; daughters: Carla Unroe of San Francisco, CA and Elizabeth (Ken) Martini of West Chester, OH; sisters: Rose Willig of North College Hill and Dolores Hand of Northern Kentucky and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son David Hand, parents, wife, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
A memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM Sunday, March 3, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 7124 North State Road 101, Milan, IN 47031 with Pastor Sue Socha officiating.
