Alvin Woliung

Alvin Dale Woliung, 71, of Versailles died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Norton’s King Daughters Health in Madison.

Alvin was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on March 15, 1951 to August Jr. and Ruby (Swango)  Woliung. After graduating from high school, he soon began employment as a welder at Hill-Rom and worked for more than 30 years. Alvin was a member of Gideon’s International and he sang and wrote gospel music. He enjoyed fishing, raising dogs, gardening and caring for his mini farm.

Alvin is survived by two daughters: Nancy (William) Anderson of Milan and Jessica (Joel) Meyers of Milford, OH; four grandchildren: Aimee (Mike York) Smith, August Stefan (Sophia) Anderson, Erick Seaver, Emily (Blake McAtee) Seaver; seven great-grandchildren: Isabella, Lydia, Elena, Ila, Brayden, Trace, and Alexander;  two brothers: Gerald (Debbie) Woliung of Moores Hill and Robert (Ludgardis) Woliung of Lawrenceburg; one sister: Sheila (Steve) Garlinghouse of Madison; a sister-in-law: Margaret “Peggie” Woliung; and several nieces and nephews. Alvin was preceded by his parents, special friend: Alethia Woliung and a brother: Virgil Woliung.

Honoring Alvin’s wishes cremation was chosen. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at Hope Baptist Church, 15593 US 50 Dillsboro, IN, with Pastor Tom Holt officiating.  Friends may visit at the church from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Craven Cemetery in Milan at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family with checks payable to Nancy Anderson.
