(Brookville, IN) – The Indiana Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division has ended its investigation and closed the file on Rodney Grubbs.
He’s the pickleball entrepreneur from Brookville who was accused last year of swindling investors out of nearly $50 million.
It’s not clear why the AG’s office is ending the investigation.
Criminal charges against Grubbs are not affected, but the decision to close the case still impacts dozens of investors who are trying to get at least some of their money back.
It was in February when a group of investors in the defunct Pickleball Rocks business venture successfully convinced a federal judge in Indianapolis to force Grubbs into bankruptcy.
The order required Grubbs to produce a list of his investors and how much he owed them.
Grubbs’ total debt was estimated around $47 million.
An online auction was held in July as part of an effort to offset his debts.
