FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN — A man facing child molesting charges in Franklin County who has been on the run for several months is behind bars.

41-year-old Jesse Meckley (pictured) was arrested in Richmond and is being held in the Wayne County Jail on several charges there, including Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine, and False Informing.

Meckley was arrested in Franklin County in September 2020 for allegedly molesting three girls and bonded out of the Franklin County Security Center in November 2020.

His trial was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But just before testimony was set to get underway, authorities say he skipped a court date in August, which resulted in a bench warrant being issued for his arrest.

Franklin County Prosecutor Chris Huerkamp told WRBI that Meckley will be brought back to Franklin County once the case in Wayne County is resolved.

Huerkamp said Meckley is scheduled to appear in court next Thursday in Wayne County.
