CINCINNATI – The highlight of the Cincinnati Bengals game Thursday didn’t come from the players, but from those in attendance.
The daughter of defensive lineman Devon Still was at Paul Brown Stadium to watch her father play.
Leah Still is battling childhood cancer and was on the field when the Bengals presented Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with a $1.3 million check from proceeds of Devon’s jersey sales.
His jersey is one of the most popular selling in the NFL this year.
In the second half, the video board revealed Lauren Hill was also in attendance and sitting right next to Leah in a suite.
Hill, a freshman forward for Mount St. Joseph’s women’s basketball team, is suffering from terminal brain cancer. The Lawrenceburg native’s story has gone international and recently led to her photo depicted on the breakfast cereal Wheaties box.
On the field, the Bengals were dominated by division rival Cleveland. An Andy Dalton first possession interception led to a Browns rushing touchdown with 10:40 remaining in the first quarter.
The Browns dominated both sides of the ball in the first half leading to a halftime score of 17-3.
Three Andy Dalton turnovers led to a disappointing night for Who Dey Nation as the Bengals lost 24-3.
The Browns record improves to 6-3 as the Bengals fall to 5-3-1.
Cincinnati will be on the road for the next three games beginning in New Orleans on Sunday, Nov. 16.
The Bengals next home game is against division foe Pittsburgh Steelers on December 7.
