The Batesville boy’s cross country team traveled to Indianapolis Saturday for the Southport invitational.
This invite always brings tough competition and is a fast course, both of which the boys can use to improve thier times. Two Batesville boys did just that. Caleb Moster finished first for the team and set a new PR at 17:21. Chris Riffle finished fourth for the team, also with a PR, which was 18:20. Also scoring for Batesville were Cole Nuhring with a time of 17:35, Connor Bell, who tied his PR with a time of 17:37, and Calvin Lehman with a time of 19:01. Elliot Main and Garrett Yorn also ran varsity and had times of 19:59 and 20:11 respectively.
Running in the reserve race were Clay Yeaton with a time of 19:41 and Jackson Wooldridge with a time of 20:35. Although the Batesville runners turned in some great times, the competition did also.
Batesville ended the day 5th out of an 8 team race scoring 105 points. The top 4 were Zionsville, Brownsburg, Hagerstown, and the home team Southport.
Bateville will be running again on Tuesday in Batesville for the Batesville Invite.
