(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Food Pantry is expanding its distribution hours to include the fourth Tuesday evening of each month from 4:30-6:30 p.m., starting this month.
The aim is to accommodate families who are unable to visit during the current Wednesday afternoon hours, which are 12-4 p.m.
The pantry serves over 200 families, or more than 700 people, monthly in Franklin and Ripley counties within the Batesville Community School Corporation who, for a variety of reasons, do not have the adequate income to provide food for their families.
Additional volunteers are needed to support the expanded hours. Any local group, team, club, church, or organization is invited to email the Batesville Food Pantry director at kendra@batesvillefoodpantry.
The pantry relies on donations of non-perishable items and financial contributions.
A collection box for non-perishable food items is located at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, St. Louis Catholic Church, and now in front of the Food Pantry at 920 County Line Road.
Those who are able to make a financial gift can send monetary donations to Batesville Food Pantry, P.O. Box 383, Batesville, IN 47006, or submit an electronic donation – including recurring monthly gifts – through the website, www.batesvillefoodpantry.org
The Batesville Food Pantry is a ministry of the Batesville Area Ministerial Association (BAMA) which is a fellowship of Christian churches serving the Batesville and Oldenburg communities.
BAMA supports the Batesville Food Pantry financially and provides many volunteers. The organization also provides emergency funds for local needs.
