Braun Signs Unemployment, Work Search Executive Orders

Gov. Mike Braun.

(Indianapolis, IN) – Governor Mike Braun has signed two executive orders aimed at cracking down on unemployment fraud and tightening work search requirements.

One of the orders directs the state to use data cross checking tools to detect fraud, while the other increases work search requirements for unemployment recipients.

Braun says the changes will enhance accountability and help more Hoosiers return to work.

His administration continues to push policies centered around fraud prevention and workforce participation.

Braun says Indiana has lost about $55 million to fraudulent unemployment claims over the past three years and is now working to get that money back.
