Applications Being Accepted for Change Ripley County Grant

(Ripley County, IN) – Applications are being accepted for the Change Ripley County Grant.

Ripley Youth Outreach, an initiative of the Ripley County Community Foundation, is accepting applications for the grant, which encourages young people to partner with a local nonprofit organization to create positive change in the county.

Applicants can apply for up to $10,000.

The grant is awarded every two years.

Previously funded projects include a welcome sign in the Town of Osgood (pictured), led by Lanie Narwold in partnership with the town; the renovation of a playground in Brown Township which was sparked by Eva Lou Powaga and in partnership with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Olean, and the purchase of equipment for Sweets Ice Cream Shop led by Sarah Price in partnership with New Horizons Rehabilitation.

To be eligible for the grant, projects must be youth-led and partner with a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, an educational institution, or a government entity.

Applications must be submitted online through the Ripley County Community Foundation website at www.rccfonline.org/grants/ no later than May 2.

As applications are reviewed, up to five finalists will be chosen to advance to a final review process where they will give a project pitch and answer any questions from the standing Ripley Youth Outreach executive committee.

Ripley Youth Outreach was established in 2015 and is a youth philanthropy program made up of students from Batesville, Jac-Cen-Del, Milan and South Ripley high schools plus Oldenburg
Academy.

The program focuses on promoting, growing, and supporting all aspects of philanthropy in the youth of Ripley County. As an initiative of the Ripley County Community Foundation, the program empowers the youth to create a powerful voice in local communities and become leaders of their generation.
