City of Batesville Releases 2025 Large Garbage Collection Schedule

(City of Batesville, IN) – The City of Batesville is out with its 2025 large garbage collection schedule.

Those who live in the city limits and have Rumpke service will be able to have up to 10 large items picked up this year on February 1, May 3, August 2 and November 1 (all Saturdays) beginning at 5 a.m. each day.

Large items are considered materials too large to fit into a garbage or heavier than 75 pounds.

Residents are encouraged to set their disposable items out the evening before to ensure pickup.

Items acceptable for pick up include:

– Old clothing

– Upholstered furniture, bedsprings and mattresses (must be covered in cellophane/plastic), etc.

– Old rugs, carpet pieces only, no rolls (not weighing more than 75 lbs.)

– Rubber hoses

– Appliances such as washers and dryers

– Insulation

– Cans or buckets (totally cleaned and dry)

– Paint cans (must be dried paint)

Unacceptable items include:

– Electronic devices containing mercury (TV’s, computers, microwaves, cell phones, etc.)

– Building and construction materials (Example: bricks, wood)

– Remodeling materials (Examples: interior – vanity’s/exterior – siding)

– Car body parts including wheels and tires

– Steel or metal framing

– Tree limbs, grass clippings or leaves

– Landscape materials

TVs, computers and monitors, microwaves, and all other electronics may be dropped off for a fee at the Batesville Area Recycle Center located at 616 John Street.

Operating hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to Noon. Call (812) 801-9099 if you have questions.
