(Batesville, IN) – The world-renowned and wildly popular Cherry Thing-A-Lings will be available to order for shipping from Schmidt Bakery in Batesville next week.
Shipping orders will be taken starting Monday and ending when the bakery reaches capacity for shipping.
If you prefer the traditional way of purchasing Thing-A-Lings, they’ll be available in-store February 13-17 from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, including Sunday.
The fritter-type donut with cherries inside and topped with a cherry glaze is only available at the bakery during Presidents Day weekend in a nod to the tale of the first President of the United States George Washington chopping down a cherry tree.
Last year, Clem and Bertie Schmidt and company at the bakery in downtown Batesville’s Shopping Village sold a record 254,880 of the sweet treats – or 21,240 dozen.
These annual tasty treats have been served at Schmidt Bakery since the 1970s.
