(Batesville, IN) – One Southeastern Indiana YMCA staff member, Jodi Hyde, shows countless examples of going above and beyond the call to serve others and advance the mission of the Y. One staff member was nominated simultaneously by three co-workers.
Hyde, Program Coordinator, was recognized in November with the YMCA S.O.A.R. Award (Service and Outstanding Achievement Recognition).
The SOAR award recognizes staff leaders who illustrate outstanding efforts to contribute to the success of the Southeastern Indiana YMCA community through their service and achievements.
First to honor Hyde, Alyssa Krekeler, Gymnastics Instructor, said “Jodi has been amazing. She has ideas. She’s excited to learn. I have never seen someone with minimal experience teaching gymnastics learn so quickly. It’s been impressive. I can trust her and she tackles whatever is needed.”
Membership & Operations Director, Tameeka Sizemore, said of Hyde, “She has been a super star on our team. She started as a Y member, then worked in Child Watch, and when we had an opening for Program Coordinator, it was a natural progression for her to jump into that role. Whether it’s working to make a class a success, communicating with parents, or learning new skills, she thrives in every area. She also helps with our Learning Center when needed. Her work ethic, versatility, and passion shines through in everything she does. I am so excited that she is here with us.”
Amber Rossman, Youth Experience Director, added “Jodi is such a big help, especially in our new areas, like the Makerspace. There is so much going on that is exciting and she has not only been a good friend, she’s really good with numbers! From all of her new ideas for classes in the Makerspace to tapping her for help with planning our budget, I’m so grateful and inspired by her.”
“I want to personally thank and congratulate Jodi for her incredible dedication and hard work. Her extraordinary contributions have truly enhanced the quality of life for our YMCA community. Through her services, activities, and initiatives, she’s strengthened not only our team but also the members and the community we serve. We are honored to have her as part of our team, and we deeply appreciate everything she does to make a meaningful difference,” shared Tara Britton, Southeastern Indiana YMCA Chief Executive Officer.
