(Osgood, IN) – The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting on a windy Thursday for the Osgood Trails expansion.
The Town of Osgood received a $400-thousand Indiana Department of Natural Resources grant in August 2023 to enhance and expand the 1.25-mile trails by six-tenth of a mile.
The trails were first built about 10 years ago and constructed around existing quarry ponds.
Walkers and joggers will be taken along a more natural and scenic wood line on the new addition, which also has several places to rest. There are also handicapped parking spots, plus some ADA-compliant trails.
The Gilmore and Golda Reynolds Foundation provided a 20-percent match, or $100-thousand, for the project.
