IN Jobless Rate Goes Up in October

(Indianapolis, IN) – The state’s unemployment rate increased in October to 4.4 percent, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

That’s up from 4.3 percent in September and higher than the national jobless rate, which was reported at 4.1 percent.

In addition, Indiana’s labor force participation rate is 63.2 percent compared to the national average of 62.6 percent. This rate is the percentage of Hoosiers 16 and older who are either working or actively looking for work.

As of November 1, there were 93,485 open job postings throughout the state.
