(St. Leon, IN) – After years of people clamoring for it, saying it’s a safety issue, a new traffic signal has been installed and is operating at the intersection of State Road 1 and Schuman Road in St. Leon.
The light just south of I-74 was put in following an intersection improvement project.
Local residents and others have been calling for the traffic signal for years because the intersection – which is heavily used by students and staff heading to East Central High School and Middle School – had been the scene of numerous wrecks.
INDOT is encouraging motorists to use caution when approaching the intersection while drivers adjust to the change.
