Edinburgh, IN – It was a Cougars vs. Cougars matchup in the volleyball regional final on Saturday as South Decatur finished off a very successful season against #1 ranked Trinity Lutheran. Throughout the whole season, the team showed lots of grit and determination
Ultimately, South Decatur fell to Trinity Lutheran in straight sets: 25-15, 25-9, and 25-9. While the outcome wasn’t what anyone was looking for, their effort reflected their dedication in every game prior to this one.
Makayla Somers led the Cougars with 10 assists, contributing significantly to the team’s offensive plays. She also recorded 1 kill and 3 digs. Additionally, Taylor Somers, added 4 kills and 2 total blocks, along with 1 assist, showcasing her skills at the net.
Zsophia Sharp contributed with 2 kills and 4 digs, while Aniston Bostic made her presence felt with 3 kills, 1 total block, and 3 digs. Paige McQueen also played a crucial role, with 1 kill, 7 digs, 1 assist, and 1 block. Elizabeth Bennett added 1 kill and 3 digs, and Lydia Witkemper rounded out the contributions with a dig of her own.
Despite defeat, the Cougars are already looking forward to next season and will seek to come back even stronger.
