The BMS cross country team hosted a 3-way meet against the North Decatur Chargers and the Connersville Spartans Tuesday evening. A short rain delay and a new course didn’t slow down the runners as both girls’ and boys’ teams came away with wins. Ava Wade was the meet champ, setting a course record with a time of 12:15. Also earning ribbons were Elia Wade in 2nd place, Ana Shane in 3rd, Emmalynn Allgeier 4th, Bailey Feldmann 5th, Audrey Dieckmann 6th, Aubrey Weberding 8th, Annabel Eckstein 9th, and Alyssa Cummings 10th. North Decatur and Connersville did not have complete girls’ teams, so Batesville got the win.
For the boys, Cael Luhman led the team with a 3rd-place finish. Timothy Quillin was next across the line in 4th place, followed by Wyatt Essick in 6th, Coleman West in 7th, Miles Lawrence 8th, and rounding out the top 10 were Luke Raver and Lucas Gadberry in a tie for 9th. Connersville put up a good fight, but the Bulldogs held them off, beating the Spartans 28 to 31. North Decatur was incomplete.
