Franklin County’s County Council met on July 23 and a variety of topics were discussed including spending nearly $1 million in grant money.
The large funding will be used to stabilize the bank on Old State Road 1 and on Johnson Road. County Council said that the county did not have to contribute any money and that $481,000 in state money was used as matching funds. Sources say the money came from a previous deal in which Franklin County took over the maintenance of Old State Road 1.
