(Greensburg, IN) – The City of Greensburg, in conjunction with the Decatur County Emergency Management Agency, has updated its Tornado Siren Activation Policy.
Sirens will now be activated when the National Weather Service issues a warning for the Greensburg area with storms under the following situations:
- Tornado warnings.
- Severe thunderstorm warnings under a tornado watch.
- Severe thunderstorm warnings tagged with “tornado possible.”
- Severe thunderstorm warnings with 70 mph or greater wind gusts.
First responders remind you to be diligent and prepared whenever severe weather threats arise.
