Batesville Swimming Team Traveled to East Central

The Batesville High School swimming programs traveled to East Central High School on Monday evening after the weather postponed the championship meet. Both programs came out and swam extremely well despite the schedule change. “Our teams came out with a completely different energy we haven’t seen yet this season,” said Coach Greg McMullen. The Bulldogs (or “professional mermaids” if you’ve been following along on social media) women’s program matched their all-time best with a second-place finish. Juniors Isabel Raab and Sarah Bedel both scored 22 points individually leading the team.

Emi Lopez lead the men’s team individually with two third place finishes in the 50 and 100 Freestyle.

In the relays, Bedel and Raab teamed up with Emma Miller and Taylor Blanton to place second in both the 200 Medley and 200 Free relays. Lopez teamed up with Dylan Shane, Tyler Kuntz and Sam Richardson to place third in the 200 Medley and was fourth with Shane, Ben Kuntz, Matthew Maher and Lopez.

Tyler Kuntz, Richardson, Maher and Ben Kuntz brought home third in the 400 Freestyle relay while the team of Meg Siefert, Jenna Zimmerman, Sam Adams and Briley Broshears came in 5th.
