(Batesville, IN) – Three Southeastern Indiana YMCA employees were honored at the October Meeting of its Board of Directors for continuing the Y’s mission of promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Mike Grossman, Martha Harrington, and Tiffany Miller were presented with the S.O.A.R. Award (Service and Outstanding Achievement Recognition).
Mike Grossman, Maintainance Technician – “He’s the doer of everything,” said Tara Britton, Southeastern Indiana YMCA Chief Executive Officer. “He’s there when we need him and he cares. If the fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night and water is spraying everywhere, Mike shows up. He recognizes the importance of taking care of our facility so that it is a pleasant and safe space for all in our community.”
Martha Harrington, Welcome Center Specialist – “She is amazing with our members,” says Tameeka Sizemore, Southeastern Indiana YMCA Membership Director. “She knows just about everyone here and makes everyone of all ages feel welcome. She always lends an ear and has a huge smile on her face as soon as you walk through the door. It’s not something you can teach. She just has that ‘it’ factor. We are so grateful to have her on our team.”
Tiffany Miller, Lead Teacher, Pre-K Firefly Room – “You want Tiffany on your team,” says McKenzie Callahan, Southeastern Indiana YMCA Learning Center Childcare Director. “She goes above and beyond. She always has fun and engaging lessons and crafts, and she has great relationships with her parents. I’m so excited to see what she’s going to do the rest of the year. We’re so grateful to have her with us.”
“We honor Mike, Martha, and Tiffany for serving as role models that have gone above and beyond job expectations,” says Britton. “I am proud of the numerous accomplishments and initiatives they have made, and for responding, through each of their strengths, in ways that positively impact the lives of children, adults, and families in our community.”
