Night Out For Nichols set for October

(Milan, IN) – The Milan Volunteer Fire Department and Aurora Police Department will host a “Night Out For Nichols” on Saturday, October 21 from 5-10 p.m. at Milan American Legion Post #235.

Proceeds will benefit Milan native and Aurora police officer Jarrod Nichols who was seriously injured in a car crash on September 10 in Marshall County, Indiana that claimed the life of his girlfriend, 21-year-old Riley Duerstock of Batesville.

Night Out For Nichols will include a pulled pork dinner from 6-8 p.m., a raffle, a silent auction, a dunking booth, a bounce house, touch a truck, live bands, and more.

Organizers say Nichols is facing a long road to recovery.

Office Nichols’ father John is the Milan assistant fire chief, an EMT with Ripley County EMS, and a Milan reserve police officer.

If you have questions about the event, you’re asked to contact any Milan firefighter or Aurora police officer.
